Ingredients for Kashmiri Muji Gaad Recipe:

  • 3-4 pieces of Rohu fish
  • Pinch of salt, turmeric powder, and red chilli powder for marination
  •  1 small radish, cut into long chunks
  •  2-3 tbsp. mustard oil
  • 1 tsp. shahjeera
  • 4 cloves
  • 2 green cardamoms
  • 1 tbsp. Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger powder
  • 1 tsp. fennel powder
  • 1 tsp. garam masala powder
  • 1/4 tsp. Asafoetida
  •  Salt to taste
  •  2 slit green chillies
  • 1 tsp. tamarind paste

How to make Kashmiri Muji Gaad Recipe:

Step 1:

 Firstly, marinate the Rohu fish with a pinch of salt, turmeric powder, and red chilli powder. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes to adequately infuse the flavours. 

Step 2:

Get a pan, and heat mustard oil until it reaches its smoking point. Be very careful while handling hot oil. Add shahjeera, cloves, and green cardamoms to the hot oil. Keep sizzling until they release their aroma. Put the radish chunks in the pan and cook them until they become slightly tender.

Step 3:

 Add Kashmiri red chilli powder, ginger powder, fennel powder, garam masala powder, and asafoetida to the radish. Mix it well to coat the radish evenly with the spices.

Step 4:

 Carefully place the marinated Rohu fish into the pan, ensuring they are nestled among the radish chunks. Season with salt to taste, add slit green chillies and spread tamarind paste evenly over the fish and radish.
